Chemka Hot Springs is an oasis of geothermal warmth that bubbles up from underground. Surrounded by lush forest alive with birdsong and the call of monkeys, the Chemka Hot Springs is an ideal place to ease those tired legs after a strenuous ascent up Kilimanjaro. They’re a little bit of heaven that’s perfect for a day trip, and those warm blue waters invite you to linger, swim or explore. Return refreshed, revitalized, and relaxed. Later evening you'll be dropped off at your hotel in Moshi/Arusha.

Kikuletwa Hot Spring Day Trip

We will pick you up in the morning. The ride to the hot springs takes about an hour and leads partly over bumpy slopes. First we go past sugar cane plantations, then we come to the African scrubland. Dried river beds, baobab and acacia trees accompany us on our way. The hot springs of Kikuletwa, also known as Chemka Hot Springs, are close to the village of Rundugai and are one of the most beautiful places in Tanzania to relax. The small pond is surrounded by palm and fig trees with winding roots. Although they are called hot springs, the water in Kikuletwa is not truly ‘hot’ but refreshing, as the water source is fed by Kilimanjaro itself.

Enjoy a wonderful day in just the way you want, in the sun dozing, chatting with the locals at the small bar, or swimming - you determine the course of this day. At noon we will have a picnic lunch, and in the late afternoon we return relaxed to Arusha.

Lodges and tented camps serve breakfast and dinner, typically buffet-style., Lunches are often a box lunch eaten while on your game drive.

The migration in East Africa is world-renowned. Millions of wildebeests participate in the migration through Tanzania and Kenya. Hundreds of thousands of zebra join them. Although lions and other carnivores do not migrate with the grazing animals, they feast on them when their paths cross.

They are licensed, trained, friendly, and have years of experience!

The best time to see the migration in Tanzania is often January-March and June-August. In the Kenya, it is often best September-October. These are also the most popular times to go, so you will need to book well in advance. You will see an abundance of wildlife all year round.

Tanzania is great to visit any time of year., Most people avoid the rainy months of April, May, and November. Some people like to go during peak migration season.,

We use 4 or 6 passenger 4-wheel-drive Land Cruisers, all with viewing roofs for the safaris.

You can buy any drinks along your way to the safari. There will be mini-markets in town.
